On our travels for the last 2 games we start our first away trip over to the Sirona Medical Arena to take on Takeley, the run of late just wasn’t showing the whole story with the players giving there all just coming up short but the 0-0 vs Barking Saturday showed the the lads actually wanted to be at the club with putting bodies on the line and the great save from Jack Ryan from the penalty spot.
The pitch was fully ready to go as the groundman shared some great photo’s early in the day of matchday and you could see that the pitch wasn’t going to effort the style of play during the game.
Just before the Half Time whistle Takeley took the lead through a Kieron Southgate goal so the half time team talk will have changed for Athletic Newham and what was said seem to have worked as Newham come out in the second half and got a goal back through Aundre Wholas-Spencer and just before the 90th Minute Idris Aminu found the back of the net to give Athletic Newham first win 28th February (9 Games)
