Athletic Newham Football Club is a football club based in London, England. They are currently members of the Essex Senior League and play at the Bobby Moore Sports Hub in Dagenham.

HISTORY

The club was founded in 2015 as a youth team known as Lopes Tavares London before transitioning to adult football the following season and joining the Essex Alliance Football League.

After two seasons in the Premier Division, we applied for and joined the newly formed Division One South, part of the Eastern Counties Football League, for the 2018/19 season.

In the 2020/21 season, the club was renamed from Lopes Tavares London to Athletic Newham. That same season, we were promoted to the Essex Senior Premier Division based on our performance in the abandoned 2019/20 and 2020/21 seasons.

In the 2021/22 season, we finished in a respectable 8th position in the Essex Senior League, just 7 points outside the playoffs.

The following season (2022/23) saw us narrowly miss the playoffs by a single point.

The 2023/24 season there was highs and lows on and off the pitch but we finished a respectable midtable plus we also added a Sunday side to our ranks playing in the Essex Sunday Corinthian Football League Division Five,

In 2024/25 the club took on a remolding project going all the way back to the clubs basic principles playing football with an identity, technique and as a unit which somehow was lost with the will to win. Athletic Newham sought to encourage youth but also to respect the tradecraft of a veteran. To win, but to do so with dignity. The personification of our principles is the coaching due lead by Diogo Nobre & His assistanted Ricardo Freitas who have already brought the joy and laughter back into the team training and wins in the league, long may it continue
