Buckhurst Hill vs Athletic Newham – Match Report

Today lost will be hard to take as we was the better team, the game started very heated with both sides looking up to get something from this one and the first challenged showed just that when Ted Buchanan went straight into a challenge which unlucky for him he come off second best and just after 10 minutes he’s day was over as he wasn’t able to carry on, thankfully he walked off the pitch so doesn’t look to serious.

The first real chance of the game come from Athletic Newham with a nice move from Newham finding Anderson Silva Baro with space down the left cutting in and playing the ball to edge of the area to where Alex Kozak was running on to and connected well enough but Muhammed Otuyo pulled of a fine save to keep it 0-0,

Buckhurst Hill dug out a decent chance right great play down the right played into box where a unmarked Archie Hammond was found but he’s chance wasn’t good enough to beat the keeper as he’s chance went just wide of the post.

Buckhurst Hill tool the lead after 30 minutes fr a questionable spot kick given by Referee, George Thompson happy to step up and add to his goal tally for the season from the spot, it didn’t take long for Newham to draw level when Jaime Obama Nvumba was played throw and dinked it over the Muhammed Otuyo for his 9 goal of the season for Newham

Moments before the goal Leonardo Luis De Carvalho Pedro saw he’s shot canon back of the cross bar after defensive and Goalkeeper error.

Five minutes after scoring the goal for Newham Jaime Obama Nvumba chase down a short back pass from Buckhurst Hill he managed to beat the keeper to the ball but ended up going slightly wide of the goal he’s better option would have been to Cross into the box where Alex Kozak was running in unmarked and could’ve taped at home for 2-1, But Obama went for the shot which was saved by the goalkeeper.

Just before the break Buckhurst Hill had a great chance to take the lead again as Buckhurst hill player unmarked inside the Newham box unleashed a shot which pulled a fine save from Lindrit Beqiri to keep the score at 1-1

Half Time
Athletic Newham 1-1 Buckhurst Hill

Second half kicked off with Athletic Newham again attacking fr the off with stretching the ball and giving Buckhurst Hill full backs problems, nothing really come from first half that was until Buckhurst Hill made to retook the lead, 55 minutes on the clock freekick on left hand side was played into ball and cleared away by Athletic Newham but the loose ball was picked up by George Thompson was smashed home for 2-1.

After Buckhurst Hill took the lead with about 35 minutes to play the goalkeeper took this moment to waste as much time as possible and getting away with it, fair ay to him of the Referee isn’t going do anything apart it then why not keep doing it, he must train at timing wasting as he was even going as far as to placing the ball to far up on a goal kick know in the lineman would make him take it back.

Newham kept attacking and got a way back into the game when Alex Kozak stepped up and placed the freekick into the corner giving the keeper no chance and getting Newham back level 2-2, Newham did attack and push and threw everything at Buckhurst Hill but there backline stood strong and with a LOT of help from Referee they managed to go up the other end on 97th minute and snatch all three points with a finish from Suley Zubdu.
